Friday Mixtape - November 22, 2013

I've shared my interest for DC-locals, Typefighter even before seeing them live. After watching them perform at last summer's Fort Reno concert series I was even more hooked on this band. Below I've shared their most recent, light-hearted video. The rest of this week's mix is variety of punk-tinged tracks. The track that most surprised me was Four Fists. This collaboration between P.O.S. and Astronautalis is promising! Marijuana Deathsquads is more of a musical collective than a band. But it points to how there is an increasing amount of musicians that attempting to create an experience as much as they are art. In this way they remind me of Nortec Collective of Tijuana or the YouTube sensations, OK Go. Sonically, there's no comparison. But I think there after something similar. You be the judge...

Four Fists - "MMMMMHMMMMM"

Native - "Kissing Bridge"

Braided Veins - "On The Limits of Tomorrow"

Solids - "Cold Hands"

Sirs - "Imposter"

Marijuana Deathsquads - "Ewok Sadness"

Typefighter - "Much"
