music: october mixtape
celebrating her birthday this month. I make a mixtape for most birthdays and holidays for our family. This one is themed in part by Halloween/Dia De Los Muertos and in part by the theme to Paige's party tomorrow: Alice in Wonderland. She dressed up as the Mad Hatter today for school, will do so for her party tomorrow and Sunday while trick-or-treating. There's lots of cross over. Danny Elfman is the king of creepy, yet fun musical endeavors. His fingerprint is all over this. But so is another artist described similarly but is certainly more of an "acquired taste:" Tom Waits. Lastly, I like doing things in three's (3 kids? You'll pick up on this if you ever take a class I teach too... and the Trinity?). So, since Paige is turning 9, there's 27 songs. Enjoy!October '10: soundtrack to a nightmare in wonderland
This month's mixtape is made in honor of my daughter, who is
