reading theology in this political season

Media_httpgecximagesa_kqpyw

A friend of mine asked me earlier today what I'd recommend reading during this political season. Honestly, I'm not reading a whole lot at the moment. But there are several books that have shaped how I think about politics. One such book was Resident Aliens by Stanley Hauerwas and William Willimon. While not directly about politics it gave me a lens through which to discern the place of Christian community within a given culture (of which politics is an aspect of). I'll share my short list of some that come to mind below, but???please???share yours on FB or in the comments.

??? Resident Aliens by Hauerwas & Willimon
??? The Politics of Jesus by John H. Yoder
??? The Myth of a Christian Nation by Greg Boyd
??? Strength to Love by Martin Luther King, Jr.
??? The Kingdom of God in America by H. Richard Niebuhr
??? Kingdom Ethics by Stassen and Gushee
??? Rediscovering Values by Jim Wallis
??? The Politics of God and the Politics of Man by Jacques Ellul

What about you?
