I'm Allergic to Texas

My doctor told me I'm allergic to Texas.

Really. She did! Back in July I was feeling terrible and finally went to the doctor. "You have bronchitis," she told me, "and you're allergic to Texas." She gave me a prescription and sent me on my way. I recovered from the bronchitis fairly quickly and continued to take my allergy medication.

After a month or so, I started to feel much better! I could breathe better, smell better and taste better. It was great! So, what did I do? I stopped taking my allergy medication. Guess what happened? My symptoms returned.

I do this a lot. We all do this. We pick a rhythm, a routine that improves our lives, yet, as soon as we start to experience the benefits of that practice ... we quit!

My habit of quitting what's good for me is the practice I'm best at. [smacks hand to forehead]

The beauty of a practice is it's continued influence on your life. For some of us, it's easy to beat ourselves up when we fall off the wagon. Best thing to do is simply to hop back on.

Gotta go get a refill on my allergy medication.
